2. PRESENTATION OF THE DIFFERENT PROJECTS FOR THE FIRST TERM
The twenty eight purpils of the European section (year 9 Sco Wales Monnet) have been very busy all through this term.
In September, shortly after the beginning of the schoolyear, they proved their motivation by taking part to the National Day of Languages on September 26. Each of them chose « the word which symbolized the best the European Union ».
Have a look at their words !
Once this presentation done, they were ready and impatient to move on and find partners to correspond with and they were lucky enough to find a Czech teacher, Mirka Boroscova, who was looking for European teenagers!
Her project was so motivating that they agreed to join it and off they went…
They immediately got involved in the project named « EUROPEAN TEENAGERS’ LIFESTYLES.
Modesta Canale, an Italian teacher also joined the project soon after.
The teenagers introduced themselves by using « vokis » (a kind of avatar) that their Czech partners enjoyed a lot. The adventure of the Etwinning was launched….
They started from scratch : the Etwinning represented such a chalenge for both teachers and pupils.
In October , they shared various activities by using the Twinspace (a space where they can store documents, photos, powerpoints files etc…). They all have their own login.
They were particularly active answering their partners’ questions and writing mails.
In November, they sent a huge powerpoint! about the presentation of their school with many photos of different places (classrooms, labs, playground…..) as well as the staff including the headmaster, the secretaries.
Meanwhile another Italian teacher had contacted them to join another Etwinning Project called TEENAGER AND EUROPEAN IN 2011.
This project is going on so well that it is possible to say that they are writing Emails as often as possible. Some of them have become virtual friends!
Week after week, projects were growing and at the beginning of December, they were up to join in a big project about Christmas with the participation of some young partners the pupils of the year 7 (the 6ème Daudet).
Each pupil did his/her best to create a Christmas card and they added a powerpoint file about Christmas traditions.
That’s all for the moment. The best is to come next year.
Merry Christmas to everybody and happy new year 2012.
